Where It All Began
Before founding Fuego, Jim worked as a fire-alarm engineer, repairing and maintaining fire systems and emergency lighting. He decided to establish his own company because he believed customers deserved a more personal, knowledgeable and dependable service.
Fuego began in 2000 in a small bedroom on the first floor of Jim’s family home. While raising three young children, he gradually built the business through hard work, technical expertise and trusted customer relationships.
The name Fuego—Spanish for fire—reflects both the company’s purpose and Jim’s Spanish heritage.

Fuego’s first major opportunity came through Lambeth Council. Jim already knew its buildings and fire-safety systems from his previous work, while the client knew the quality and reliability of the service he provided.
Following a successful initial trial, Fuego’s work expanded across more buildings in the borough. Trusted relationships and customer recommendations then helped the company grow into other areas of London.
Today, Fuego supports 1000+ schools and commercial buildings, has worked with numerous London authorities across London and provides services to public and residential sites across the capital.

Jim built Fuego while raising three young children, balancing the demands of a growing company with family life. Now a father of three grown-up children, he understands personally how important it is for parents to know that schools, homes and public buildings provide safe environments for the people inside them.
